I'd love some advice as to where I can get some exquisitely designed Victorian boots. Probably need to be reproduction, since I wear a women's US size 8 wide. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help locating Victorian [reproduction] Boots
Fri, December 5, 2008 - 2:40 PMActually, check out some of the high end shoes store like Nordstrom and such, laced up Victorian styled boots are in style right now, I just did a show set in the 1870's and was surprised that even Payless had some options, but there are more authentic styles at the better stores that are probably a lot cheaper than historical recreation vendors . . . -

Unfortunately, I'm a bit of a pain when it comes to newer boots. All of them have laces... AND ZIPPERS! I don't know why, but it irks me when you have both. I prefer having one or the other. -

Mon, January 5, 2009 - 8:48 PMYeah, what is it with both laces and zippers, or laces & elastic? I keep looking for something locally with just laces, and am figuring I will eventually save up for a nice pair of re-enactment boots myself.

Tue, June 30, 2009 - 7:33 AMIt really depends of what part of the Victorian era you are looking for. Victoria reigned for a long time.
