Hi there.. I'm looking for high quality khaki coloured or antique bronze/copper/brass (NOT shiny) eyelets, about corset size, but not for a corset.
Does anyone have a good source for eyelets that don't stretch out of shape as easily as the ones you get at chain fabric stores?
Thanks!

Thu, March 6, 2008 - 7:39 PMIt's a great site.. but I only saw nickel & shiny brass eyelets.. I'm looking for enameled eyelets or those with an antique brass or copper look.. I'll keep searching... thanks! :) -

Thu, March 6, 2008 - 9:42 PMIt might be easier to buy the good eyelets, then patina them yourself.

Thu, March 6, 2008 - 10:48 PMwhat about spray enamel? I'm seeing links to companies which offer colored eyelets, but they only seem to sell to other companies wholesale. -

Re: I'm looking for high quality enamled or patina'd eyelets.
Thu, March 6, 2008 - 10:54 PMhmm.. that's a thought.. the spraying.. if it doen't flake off when I squish 'em.. that just might work! These are for garments, so I'm not sure the paper ones you linked would work.. One would think they'd be out there, as they're in things like baseball cap & vents in sports jackets....
The hunt goes on.. thanks for the ideas & links! -

Re: I'm looking for high quality enamled or patina'd eyelets.
Sun, March 9, 2008 - 12:13 AMThere are at least ten commercial products available that are specifically designed to "blacken" brass. Google "Blackening Brass" and pick your link. There are a million more home-brew recipes out there among hobbiests so look carefully and choose one you want to try. If that one doesn't work, don't worry, there's more.
